The pattern of changing the ruling government every five years has been observed in the Himachal Pradesh elections. The trend continued in the 2022 elections as well, although there were some deviations this time. The election was fiercely contested, and the final result was determined by a narrow margin of just 1% of the votes.
The Congress party emerged as the winner, securing 37,974 votes more than the BJP across the entire state. In certain constituencies, the margin of victory ranged from as low as 200 votes to a mere 1000 votes. Himachal Pradesh Election 2022
During the Himachal Pradesh election in 2022, there was a noticeable increase in the cold wave in the region. At the same time, there was also a surge in political tensions. The various political parties were engaged in a fierce competition, using accusations and verbal attacks against each other.Ā
They made every effort to win over the voters and gain their support. However, once the people of Himachal Pradesh went to vote on November 12th, the intense political atmosphere settled down.
Congress party got clear majority and won 40 seatsĀ seats more than the half way mark of 34. BJP got 25 seats and 3 seats were won by the Independent candidates.Ā
